Vials are sized by body diameter first, because that is what every tray, holder and box in your pack will be built around. Our stock range runs in three body families: a 16 mm body covering 2ml, 3ml and 5ml; a 22 mm body covering 3ml up to 15ml; and 24 mm / 27 mm bodies for 20ml and 30ml. Two vials with the same fill volume can sit in different body families, so the body diameter is the number to confirm before specifying any secondary packaging.

For peptide and GLP-1 work the 3ml vial is the most commonly ordered size, with 10ml close behind for larger dose formats. Every size here is stock, so there is no tooling charge to start, which makes this the simplest part of the range to trial.

Clear vs Amber Borosilicate: Which for Peptides?

Both options are borosilicate glass, chosen for its low thermal expansion and its resistance to leaching that would affect sensitive formulations. Clear glass is the default when the product needs to be inspected visually, because particles and fill level can be checked without opening anything. Amber glass blocks a large part of the visible spectrum and is the choice when the formulation is light-sensitive and will spend time on a bench or in a display pack rather than in a fridge.

In practice the decision often follows the packaging as much as the product: amber suits a retail pack that will sit on a shelf, while clear suits a clinical or laboratory setting where visual inspection matters more than light protection. If the product is both light-sensitive and regularly inspected, we would pair a clear vial with a light-blocking outer box.

What Comes With Each Vial: Stoppers and Caps

Every glass vial ships with one butyl stopper and one aluminium crimp cap included, matched to the neck size. The stopper is fitted when the vial is filled and the cap is crimped over it, using the same 13 mm and 20 mm crimp sizes as the rest of our caps and tools range, so the tooling you already have will fit. Nothing needs to be ordered as a separate line item.

One limitation worth planning around: the vial body is not printed. Branding goes on the outer box or carton, and this applies to the amber range as much as the clear one. If you need a branded vial appearance, the practical route is a printed label or a sleeve plus a printed outer box, which also keeps your artwork off the glass.
